VTB Bank, in collaboration with Cinimex, developed and implemented a Financial Transaction Processing Platform (FTP). It is created based on a stack of technologies built on open-source products and libraries and supports both domestic and international standards for the transmission of financial information, without using foreign solutions in this area.

The TAdviser IT Prize in the 'Digitalization in Banks: Project of the Year' category for the FTP solution was awarded to Oleg Boltar, Deputy Chief of Settlement Automation Department, VTB Bank, and Denis Ermilov, Deputy Director for Key Client Relations, Cinimex.

Oleg Boltar noted that the uniqueness of the project is primarily due to the uniqueness of VTB's payment system, which has a wide geography and many payment channels, including public payment systems. The project implementation allowed the bank to consolidate all channels on a single platform, standardize payment processing, and automate various channels of interbank message interaction. FTP allows connecting new clients, further expanding the geography of payments.

Denis Ermilov emphasized that one of the main tasks of the project was to create a universal, reliable, import-independent platform for information exchange between banks, legal entities, payment systems, and to build an architecture that allows adding various types and routes of financial messages without altering the main components of the FTP system. Cinimex's specialists managed to create a constructor that allows connecting new clients, new countries, and building payment routes without significant modifications to the code.

Technologically, the project solved the challenge of import substitution - the platform is built on completely import-independent components. Besides changing the software architecture, the microservices architecture allowed changing the approach to team formation when creating new services and significantly increasing the speed of changes in the bank's payment landscape.

Oleg Boltar stressed that Cinimex is a partner with whom the bank has decades of successful cooperation. The company's specialists have the necessary experience and competencies. This is why Cinimex was chosen. Denis Ermilov, in turn, noted that the company's specialists are well-versed in the technological stack used in creating the platform, understand payment services and transactional business, and the bank's infrastructure, which is crucial for implementing such a complex project since the FTP interacts with dozens of other information systems.

The bank plans to develop the FTP in three directions. The first is further scaling, expanding the geography of the payment system, supporting new financial formats, and attracting new clients. The second direction is to provide 'SPFS Service Bureau' services through the platform for the bank's clients, and the third is to develop services related to non-financial information exchange."
