Foreign Currency Transactions Support and Control

Gazprombank and Cinimex completed the first stage of the project for implementation of an automated system for foreign currency transactions recording, support and control. The new system based on 1C: Enterprise 8.3 has been deployed into the Bank’s industrial environment.
Key purposes of the new system:
  • Minimization of costs through maximum level automation of foreign exchange control processes;
  • Migrating workflows from paper to electronic;
  • Timely updates on the status of foreign currency control process for customers;
  • New paperwork services for customers.
Project Implementation
The system was developed based on advanced domestic technological platform 1C: Enterprise 8.3, which allowed completing the project within short timeframes and by efforts of a small team. The main arguments in favor of 1C: Enterprise were the following characteristics of the platform: it’s a home-grown technology, it comes with state-of-the-art ergonomic user interface, flexible access permissions and vendor neutrality; it supports the leading enterprise DBMS (Oracle Database, IBM DB2, MS SQL Server) and open-source data management system PostgreSQL; embedded mechanism for business processes design and execution; a mature market of software development on the platform.
In the course of the project, Cinimex and the bank’s team explored new formats of cooperation by working on the software and system interface together, making the best of the platform and distributed development. Such approach allowed to leverage the bank’s expertise in banking systems and Cinimex’s knowledge of the platform.
The new system is integrated with remote banking systems and report generation system through unified messaging format and Gazprombank’s integration platform. To enable such interoperability, new functional modules were developed in 1C: Enterprise.
In the future, as part of the second stage of the project Gazprombank intends to extend system functionality, connect its branch offices to the central system and develop new banking systems on 1C: Enterprise to enable automation of other areas of business.
