Artificial Superintelligence Will Appear in 2027
Researchers from AI Futures Project forecast that Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) will emerge in 2027.
The authors warn: its goals may diverge from human ones, which could pose a danger to people.
Whoever gains control over ASI will have immense power. However, Russia is unlikely to be an active participant in the race to develop this technology.
The AI Futures Project lab has published AI 2027 – a scenario for the development of superintelligent artificial intelligence.
In the preface, the authors write that ASI’s influence within a decade will be enormous, potentially surpassing the scale of the industrial revolution.
They emphasize that society is not ready for such drastic change.
ASI (Artificial Superintelligence) is a concept of AI that surpasses the human brain in all cognitive functions.
Maksim Zharov, Key Account Manager at CINIMEX, explained that superintelligent AI will possess meta-learning – the ability to “learn how to learn”, mastering new tasks with minimal examples, much like a human.
This implies recursive self-improvement: ASI will be able to modify its own source code and architecture, eliminate logic bottlenecks, and accelerate its own development.
Unlike today’s narrow AI models, ASI will be universal.
